Over 34,000 Americans are diagnosed with oral cancer every year. The key to surviving oral cancer is early detection and early treatment.
This means regular oral cancer screening – at least once every six months. An oral cancer screening takes minutes, is pain-free and can also be conducted during regular dental examination. Oral cancer is twice as common in men than in women, so it is highly recommended that men conduct oral cancer screening often. Tobacco smokers, heavy drinkers and people over the age of 60 are also at high risk for oral cancer.
